MPV recommendations

My brother is in need of a MPV, needs a 7 seater. He would like a Toyota corolla verso but are there better alternatives?. He has a Max budget of £4K and wants a petrol -. 1.6 1.8 or 2.0L.. he does not want anything fast just has to be reliable.
Can anyone recommend alternatives if better ones are available?

Hard to beat a Toyota corolla for reliability in fairness.

Its a smaller mid sized MPV. Think 5+2 rather than 7 seater. The Touran is a little bit bigger but I'd pick the Toyota for Reliability.

The issue is really one of space. How much boot space with the 7 seats do you need. Whats the shoulder space needed, 1, 2 or 3 baby seats. Some MPV have narrow seats.

Also will he be doing long trips, need a spare wheel, because many MPV don't have one.

As an alternative check out the Kia Carens 7 seat version, very good cars, interior is a bit cheaper than the Toyota, but the petrol models are just as reliable and they are better value.

He does not really do long journeys, hence going for petrol engine and not a diesel.
He has 3 kids all between 12 and 6. But also wants to be able to my parents or his in laws in the vehicle too.
I guess a larger MPV would do as well. I put the wrong budget previously have corrected it now. His max budget is £4K.
