US: Mr. Robot

I agree, it's not a patch on the first series - three episodes in and I have no idea what is going on, there has been zero story advancement and I find myself being unable to trust anything that Eliott says or does because I don't know whether he is hallucinating or not.
Pretty awful TV to be brutally honest, which is a crying shame after the brilliant first season.

think its time to put this one to bed. if it carries on like this its getting cancelled at the end of this series. Probably best to write off season 2 and remember it for a very good season one.

Reassuring that it's not just me finding it frustratingly slow. Moments of promise but for 4 episodes, ~3.5hrs, I'm not getting any sense of where they're going with any of it.

I hope I'm just being impatient but this show seems to have shifted in style since season 1. We're now 4 episodes in and nothing really has happened yet.

It's like the first season received some praise for the portrayal of mental illness and the writers have decided to double-down on that, but for me it was never where the story was.

Yes but it already did get going, season one was brilliant.

I watched this weeks episode and I don't think I knew "when" they were until about halfway through. Was the first chunk from before the takedown and then it came up to the present day?
I did enjoy this week's episode more, in spite of the confusion and hopefully, now that he seems focused (on the FBI), things will get back to being as good as the first season.

I rewatched episode 4 and it gives the impression that stuff is about to start happening, so I am optimistic about episode 5.

How unrealistic was that money burning part?! I'm sure everyone would just stand there looking as he tips it all out and sets it alight, especially in NYC. The moment he started dousing it I would have grabbed a load. :p

Edit: Well I've caught up now and it's rather underwhelming. It seems to be less about hacking now and more about him being crazy. His face is downright offensively annoying too.

These last two episodes have actually been worth watching, especially yesterdays but my gosh before that was a waste of time.

It's been a slow start, but what is happening has been planned out since before season 1.

The show is more on the intellectual side and not about visual stimulation. It's a build up to something in particular. I have found the pace of the first few season 2 episodes to be difficult, I have however been enjoying the character development that has been going on in the different groups of people and the hints at what's to come next.

It's also not really about hacking, and it never really was. Having was a theme to the show, but it was just a vehicle to present situation rather than just to visually stimulate people who are interested in technology.

The show is about Elliott, his behaviour and severe issues he has and how they impact on the people in his life with a central theme of mental health, corruption and the 1%.

It's like saying that the Walking Dead is about guns because of how much they're featured.

As for the money thing, I highly doubt you would actually do that if you saw someone doing that. I would fully expect that you would be incredulous as to what was going on and just stand observing it trying to process the absurdity of what you were seeing. I wouldn't even expect you to acknowledge that it was actually real money.
