ms dos specific command

Hi folks,

what I want to do is create a filename list from a specific directory. There is a command for DOS that does this and save the list as a text file in the directory, but i cant for the life of me remember what it is. Anyone have any ideas?

any chance you could give an example? it doesnt seem to want to work for me lol. the folder i want to make a list of is D:\films
