MS Flight Sim X - Hardware requirements?

A guy at work plays MS Flight Sim X, and was complaining that he has to turn all the graphics options to the minimum.

His system specs are Pentium D dual-core CPU, 1Gig DDR333 & a 'recent' Nvidia 128Mb card (what ever that is).

The MS site gives system requirements as 1Gig CPU, 256Mb RAM & 32Mb card.

Just wondered if anyone had an idea of what 'real world' spec is required to run this in all it's glory?

I'm not sure what the quoted requirements are but from what I have read even the best PC you can currently assemble would still suffer from some frame rate problems on full details.The Pentium D (regardless of which one it is) hasn't really got much of a chance. Neither has a 128MB Nvidia card to be honest. Their main gaming cards have had 256MB, at least, for ages now.

Those quoted specs are optimistic to say the least.

I can run it on max with specs in sig, still get stutter occasionally, this is usually only in airports though
