MS is evil.

I've heard two theories:
1. Microsoft are trying to force people to rely on their software so that they can't/don't move away from them, so having them rely on OneDrive is part of that strategy.
or
2. They need as much data as possible to train their AI models and pushing all your docs onto their servers is one way of doing it.

I am not logged in with a Microsoft account and i uninstalled OneDrive so not an issue for me.
 
Microsoft have never ever been a company that puts its users needs before profit. It’s be unscrupulous since day one and have got worse ever since. MS puts ads in Windows FFS and this is one of the lesser evils. The readers of this forum are a diverse bunch but most have the technical skills to stop using Windows and to use a proper OS such as Linux. Even MacOS is a safer and more secure OS than the absolute car crash that Windows and always has been

I would certainly lean towards your second theorie. AI is going to be a multi billion dollar business very, very quickly.

The amount of money companies have invested in it, in the last 5 years, and their carbon footprint increasing so much because of it, only shows the determination they have for it.

Just for games, found out recently Mortal Online 2 & Pax Dei will play on Steam in Manjaro Linux. My cpu gets to 90c+ playing though, so wait for the case I ordered to come. I love the size of theSG95, but it can't handle the heat. I wish they put the PSU on the bottom. The case was #3 on the top 10 itx cases of 2024 Cooler Master NR200 SFF Small Form Factor Mini-ITX Case, Vented Panels, Triple-slot GPU, Tool-Free, 1x 120mm Fan, 1x 92mm, 360 Degree Accessibility (MCB-NR200- so prob. when desktops go to ARM, why would they not, when laptops are? all the software is going to be remade for ARM. So Steam in Mac will prob. be able to play Windows games. Why matian softwre for x86 & arm when you don't need to?

The whole AI training thing gives a whole new meaning to "your call is being recorded for training purposes" with all sorts of software now i'm sure
