MS Money Alternative

My mother has just got a new laptop. Previously she's had MS Money 98 (got it with a PC back when it was new) and been happy with it - well she still is tbh - but I'm wondering if there are there any newer alternatives, preferably free. I've just had a look at MS Accounts Express and it looks too business orientated. All she wants to do is track savings and expenditure really.

Google comes up with a lot of online tools or suggests spreadsheets - if that's all there is, I'll just whack MSM98 on Win7

Last version of money that was localised for UK is MS Money 2005 - I use it daily and its perfect for my needs

Money Manager Ex (by Codelathe) was the best I could find that was simple to use (and free). Still in beta but works well.
