ms office 2003 vs 2010

ok I can get MS office 2003 for £43 or 2010 for £87, which should i go for?
It will only be used by my mum to do her course work for college.

Probably not 2010 i would think, i suppose i could get 2003 then if she has to, upgrade to 2007. then if she has to get the free upgrade to 2010. sound like a plan?

2010 will be supported a lot longer than 2003. And it's better. I'd only go for 2003 if I absolutely had to save the money and wasn't interested in using it long term.

or better still.

You can go to software4students and buy the professional version of Office 2010 for £39 if you are a student.

And I would go for Office 2010, as it's slightly more inaccesible so best to learn it now rather than get proficient with Office 2003 and be faced with the ribbon interface later on in a work environment
