Hey guys..

Usually you back up before a new installation, nope not me I did it the other way round...

So I have plugged my old HDD into my new rig and am desperately trying to find my PST file for outlook 2007

can you guys help?

thanks

trouble is i dont have this path anymore...

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\

I did in my old HDD which is now my 2nd HDD...

So I tried looking for it elsewhere and failed to find it...

is there anything else i can do?

Do what I do.

Find said outlook file, cut it, and then put it somewhere much more easy to find (I use My Documents\Outlook) which you can then backup with all the rest of your files. Then when you open Outlook it will say it cant find the default PST and promt you to find it. You point it at where it is now and it carrys on as normal.

Ive never understood why the default PST is hidden away, as its clearly the kind of file you would want to backup and keep track of.

c:\Documents and Settings\George\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

Thats mine from an XP install but failing that search your old docs and settings profile for.pst files.

That's what I do, place the file in your desired location then go into Outlook and open the file, then set outlook to deliver your emails into that PST.
