MS Office

My brother is buying a Macbook for uni and asked me if he gets MS Office for his mac, will he be able to his open files on a pc with MS Office or are Mac saved files in a different format to Windows ones? I thought it probably would but I thought I'd just post on here to get a definite answer. Sorry if this has been posted before but I can't search so I don't know

IIRC mac:Office is 2003, so that's compatible with the format of the PC version.

The new version of Office (2007) will be able to backwards save but MS are replacing VBscript with Apple script in mac:Office but in the pc office then they're continuing with VBscript.
So macros won't be compatible.
