Hi. I've got an android 2.2 phone and it's got active sync on it. So i can use my free hotmail account and get free push email, contacts and calender.

Surely outlook has the ability to do this with hotmail? The outlook connector add on only supports pop. Am I missing something?

If my phone could sync with the computer directly that would be fine, but apparently bluetooth sync is too much to ask from a (HTC) phone these days, and i hate connecting it by usb every time.

The Outlook Connector will sync it in a similar way - although in reality I find it pretty unreliable. I quite often log into my Hotmail accounts via the webpage and find loads of items that i deleted ages ago...

But anyway, the calendar/email/contacts will Sync (or at least attempt to!) between Hotmail and Outlook.

I've tried outlook connector but it's pretty terrible. It's not "unreliable" at passing the changes to hotmail, it just never does it. so I have to do everything twice.

Whereas active sync actually propagates the changes to hotmail, so acts much more like a microsoft exchange system.

I don't see why there is no software for this if my phone can do it. Surely someone else has thought of it?

I wonder if using the m.hotmail.com server details works in Outlook..... might be worth a try - but i'm guessing it won't work ;)
