Spent a whole weekend trying to find the cause of this issue without any luck
Task '[email protected] - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The
operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If
you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).'
Using Office 2007 Outlook and Windows Vista Ultimate - Can recieve emails fine but cant send. Its not a server issue as email works fine through the BT web based email system and my BT email works fine(it's my mum's laptop/email with the problem).
Its not AV (NOD32) causing it, I've closed NOD32 and didnt make a difference.
Same issue when using Windows mail so I'm pretty sure its a problem with Vista itself.
I've also noticed in my google searches that all the posts on other message boards with the same issue (non of which had a working solution) have been posted in the last 2 months (June or July) so maybe its caused by a Vista update?
I've tried all the various account settings in Outlook with no effect.
As I said i'm pretty sure its a Vista issue but nothing more specific then that so i'm just posting here on the off-chance anyone has any suggestions I havent looked into yet.
TIA for any thoughts
