Hi All

recently i had a problem with my PC, the solution to which was to enable all windows services. This has fixed all but two problems:

1) I get huge lag spikes on the internet

2) I have an error message loading scuid.dll

the first problem is the most presssing - is there a service I need to disable taht might be interfering with internet connectivity? Or is there software that can diagnose and correct the problem?

I'm using win7 BT Broadband and homehub 3? router

cheers

Peter

It's more likely that you haven't completely cleaned up the virus infection you mention in another recent post. Blindly enabling all windows services isn't the correct solution to any problem.

I'd wipe the PC and start again.

It wasn't a virus. I ran CCleaner which normally performs very well and i disabled some programmes in startup and cleaned the registry. When i rebooted the problem began and then mostly disappeared when i realised that most of the services had been stopped.

It could be to do with the cleaning of the registry files, try doing a system restore to before this problem began.

Though i'd recommend doing a clean install if there was previously a virus present.
