Running MS Windows Server 2003 and want to run terminal services on it. It says programs may become unuseable that were installed prior to running terminal server (due to multiple access rights etc..).

Is there any way of ascertaining what programs may be effected by this? As hopefully I won't have to un-install all re-install everything. I've not got that many programs on there, but it's still a pain!

Cheers

OK, thanks for the info. If they are multi-user aware (assuming most Windows apps are), does that mean they'll work ok without re-install providing they were installed to the root install directory and not user directories?

The only programs installed are MS SQL Server 2005 and MS C# 2005 Express, other than the standard Windows apps. I just use it as a test server but I'd not be too amused if after installing terminal services it suddenly stopped running SQL server! Windows components dying on me would also be very bad!

Cheers!

Thanks both for your help. C# going awry isn't the end of the world. But all the remote users need access to the SQL server which has some stuff on it at the mo.

The only reason I want to use this terminal service is so I can use 5 RDP connections as opposed to the default 2. Am I barking up the wrong tree anyway? Does terminal services extend my RDP connections to 5 or does it do something completely different? Can I still use my 2 RDP connections if it ruins the programs for use with terminal services. Or are these progs irrepairably damaged and need re-install anyway.

The MS help is rubbish, or rather, I'm just being stupid!

Thanks again!
