According to reports, Microsoft will next week unveil a Xbox 360 motion controller which is "geared specifically for Banjo Kazooie 3 gameplay." Some members of the press have apparently already seen the controller being used with Banjo Kazooie 3. Banjo Kazooie 3 will be shown at a press event next Tuesday, so if true, we should see more information about the controller then.

damm, one of the games i was looking forward to playing is probably going to be sub par now because i will have to wave a controller at the screen, or if its not sub par and the controller works then i'm forced to buy one to enjoy the game as intended. Why has MS done this?, six-axis on the PS3 isn't all that great but at least its a standard conroller that comes with the console.

Next they will announce a new console with Blu-ray drives and built-in wifi :(

lol

I assume this will be motion sensing like the SIXAXIS, rather than a Wii-type device?

If so, really, what's the point? If your going to introduce something like this, leave it till the next console and have it be a fundamental feature to all games, don't just tack it onto an established product :/

I think it will be more complex than sixaxis, more like the wiimote hopefully even better, otherwise there would be no point in it.

Its not actually a bad idea from MS stand point it both trivialises nintendos console as a mere novelty attachment and it makes people think of the 360 as a more casual platform too.

I think Id be up for a HD serious in depth version of wii tennis.

Still from a love of nintendo pov its not great, but id be shocked if it actually dented wii sales too much.

edit: There was a rumour a while back they had approached gyration the people who made the wiimotes tech..

Oh god, not sucky motion sensing.

Controller anyday and Sixaxis is crap, the only Wii title I enjoyed because of the controller was The Godfather.

Heard this a few months ago on 1up, they also said sony have a motion control "waggle wand" for release at the end of they year and Resistance 2 will use it (no it wasnt april 1st episode).

Why can't people just accept that motion controls are rubbish 99% of the time and let me have my dual analogue sticks in peace.

Oh that just screams lame!

I hope it's optional, does that mean the wand will attach to the Sixaxis via the mini usb port or be wireless?

Hopefully it will be for some minigame or optional unneeded control scheme.

Utter crap tbh. Rubbish games have rubbish controls on any console - the good Wii titles which use the sensing functions are better for it. I'd gladly take my Wii remote for Metroid Prime 3 over dual analogue.

If MS are going to tack it on, then it's understandable because that's what has made so many Wii games poor (alongside these titles usually being godawful PS2 ports anyway). Take Pro Evo on the Wii as a shining example of ground-up development using pointer and motion. Best (controlled) game of footie I've played in years.

All down to opinion of course.

I found MP3 and PES on the Wii horrible to play. Give me a pad any day.

With PES I can understand that you couldn't get your head round the way it works... But MP3? You point, you shoot. I found it so much more fluid to play than CoD4 with analogue sticks (which is still awesome - I'm not against the pad).

Whatever, like I said it's opinion. I just don't get on with most Wii games, and usually find the controls too inaccurate for fast paced games.

Of course, I understand the opinion bit. My issue was the '99%' bit - which is just rubbish (and not posted by yourself...). My original point is that MS need to make sure it's not tacked on, and learn from where mistakes have been made on the Wii.
