I have word 2003 installed, and recently when i open it, the cursor is right at the top of the page, to get it back to normal, i have to click, View, Header and Footer, Close, the cursor is now in the correct place.

So does anybody know as to why it has decided to do this? as im

are you referring to the buttons in the bottom left of the screen that change your view of the document?

If you open the view menu from the toolbar, which of the top 5 options is selected? You probably want to select Print Layout opposed to Normal which seems to be what you are describing

The other thing you might be describing is that when you are in print layout you can hide white space (it sounds like you have set it to hide as default)

"You can hide white space by default by clicking Options on the Tools menu and clearing the White space between pages check box on the View tab."

It is a little hard to explain how to show/hide white space, but if you look in the help for "Show or hide white space in print layout view " it gives you a diagram
