MS Word using 100% CPU and memory increasing!?

i have a 72 page document with 90% text and i open it and word goes to 50% CPU (dual core) which is 100% (single core) and the memory starts at 40MB and keeps going up and up and up and it'll get to 150MB and keep using 50% CPU..

any ideas?

nope no macros atall just open the document and it runs up my cpu and mem

copied the text into another document, saved that and seen if the same thing happens? Does it happen with any other documents? Probably related to the non-text media you have in there, almost certainly in fact. Only other thing in word that uses loads of cpu is the spelling/grammar checker, but that wont load tonnes into the memory.

well the full document is currently full of grammer errors. part of my assignement to sort them out.. i'll see how it goes.. thanks
