Really strange... Changed to a selective boot under MSCONFIG on my Windows install (to benchmark with no services on) but i don't know how to change it back now.... such a stupid thing to do i know but its really annoying me now

if anyone knows how to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated. May try a repair of Windows 7 with the disk.

Tried restore point, doesn't let me try it, gives an error when opening System Restore in Control Panel. Made a Repair disk, says Non-System Disk or Disk Error on startup.... this is cheesing me off!:mad::mad:

going off, need sleep :o if anyone has any ideas of how to fix it, would be very much appreciated. Would prefer not to do a fresh install of windows 7.

I have home premium if that would be of any help.

Can you get into windows?

If so can you get to the services?

Try changing them to automatic (not for all I'm sure there's a list out there).

Current situation is:

I can get into Windows, login fine, and i can use everything (except Internet) with no sound and no Aero interface. It's as if I have the windows classic theme on. It says I can't re-enable Aero because there is no compatible graphics interface.

Ok i found Services but i have to enable them all manually, is there a faster way? There are ~80 to do... Thanks I think this is the solution i've been looking for :D

Ok everything now works :D except it took nearly 3 minutes to get the desktop icons and Explorer up, it normally appears instantly after I logon... maybe a couple more restarts will fix it :D thanks for your help!
