I'm new to Visual Studio being a Java developer and I've just completed setup, the setup DVD also has an installer for "MSDN Library for Visual Studio 2008" but I have a seperate DVD with the same thing on, do I just install the one on the seperate DVD? I have a feeling that they are the same thing or at least different versions of the same thing so I don't want to install both and find out that I've got two copies. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Well they are DVD ISOs from MSDN and they were seperate downloads, one is marked as Visual Studio 2008 and there is a seperate disk labelled "MSDN Library for Visual Studio 2008" with it's own installer but the first disk also has an enrty for "MSDN Library for Visual Studio 2008" I didn't want to have a redundant copy of it if it's the same.

I've installed the seperate DVD with it's installer and it seems fine, when I run the installer on the first disk it see's that it is already installed. The two disks I had were:

en_visual_studio_2008_professional_x86_x64wow_dvd_X14-26326

and

en_msdn_library_for_visual_studio_2008_x86_x64wow_dvd_X14-29217

Now that ISO number looks to be a match for the disk ID of the standalone version of the library (en_msdn_library_for_visual_studio_2008_x86_x64wow_ dvd_X14-29217) so it might just be that the standalone DVD is an update to the original library that ships on the VS2008 DVD?

Yeah, that matches the ISO that I have and it was not part of the VS2008 download so I think it could be an updated or expanded version of the one of the VS2008 disk. After I installed the standalone version the VS2008 disk detected that the library was already installed.
