Hi all. Has anyone managed to get this working yet? I'm new to the Quest and Link cable but have found my way around so far....I have Alyx working wirelessly via Virtual Desktop.

MSFS 2020 won't work wirelessly so I've just tried the Link cable, the Quest 2 shows up as a device in the Oculus software but when I select "Switch to VR" in MSFS nothing happens. My Rift S is not connected.

EDIT: As a test I've started Steam VR from my desktop, but it isn't appearing in the Quest, it's still the Oculus Home software, something isn't right I think..... the Quest as a device is 100% being seen by the Oculus software so it's not that......"unknown sources" is allowed in the oculus software...

Fixed. The allow apps? dialogue screen in the quest did not show 1st time around so I rebooted the oculus software and the quest and the dialogue box showed up, clicked Enable, all good.

Have played a bit now, lots of graphical artifacts when I turn my head, I feel a reverb g2 is coming my way (it is for sure, just bought one on ebay).

Sounds like you're reprojecting. If you're reprojecting on the Quest 2 then you're likely to reproject on the G2, and Oculus reprojection (Asynchronous timewarp) is better than the WMR or Steam versions.

I swapped planes and place and it solved it, i think it was cause i was in the JFK activity in the jet which is really intensive. It was smooth and looked good. I have a reverb on the way too now lmao too late to cancel order really dont want to mess the seller about, it's still the best headset for simming imho. I have a new 3090 which i haven't overclocked yet so doing that asap.

G2 will be better than the Quest 2 for sims, no question. It was just that reprojection is likely with MFS2020 anyway as it's very hardware intensive.

So I don't have a quest but there are two things I've gathered are important:

In nvidia control panel set vsync to fast for msfs (and perhaps other games too), otherwise you get frame timing spikes that will make it juddery.

If you are running on the steam openXR runtime then you may or may not also have worse performance it seems, so use the native oculus openXR runtime. Make sure you join the beta channel.

Known Issues (launching the sim – no updates):
  • [Oculus] Before using VR in Flight Simulator with an Oculus headset, the computer needs to know the location of the OpenXR runtime to use. Please follow the steps below to set this location in the registry:
    1. Right-click on your Start menu and select Run.
    2. Type in “regedit” (without quotations) and hit Enter. This will launch the Registry Editor.
    3. Locate the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenXR\1
    4. For ActiveRuntime change its value to the one that matches your platform (note: default path is shown below):
      C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-runtime\oculus_openxr_64.json
    5. Close the Registry Editor. You are now ready to enter VR with your Oculus headset.

Have a browse of the forums here - lots of quest 2 users and tips/troubleshooting shared, especially in the performance section Latest Virtual Reality (VR) topics - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

^ Zeeflyboy thanks for that bullet point tip, will implement today. I will look at that forum too..... thanks.
Edit: to add i have it working wireless now and the quality appears better than the link cable option, did not expect that.
