Want to get a 560Ti. 1 atm, but may well look to SLI later.

Should I go for the 2gb version, or is it overkill and would I be better off sticking with the 1GB version.

I will be gaming at 1920X1080. Playing the likes of BF3, Skyrim, total war shogun 2. Just about everything everyone else seems to be playing atm.

As far as I know, 2GB only really becomes useful if you are gaming at massive screen resolutions or on multi monitor setups. The 1GB version will be perfectly adequate for your current 1920x1080 resolution.

On the other hand if you can get the 2GB version for a good price then it will do you no harm, and will leave more room for future display upgrades and more demanding games later on that may actually need more VRAM.

The basic performance between the two cards at resolutions 1920x1200 and below will be fairly evenly matched though, except for some very demanding games perhaps

1Gb all the way. The price of the extra 1Gb is not worth it considering that the performance difference ranges from non-existent to almost non-existent.
