Hi all

I am having issues gaming with my MSI 560Ti 2gb. I have been getting the error message “display driver stopped responding and has recovered”.

When I check my Windows event viewer I have loads of warnings which say : "The NVIDIA OpenGL driver has encountered an out of memory error. This application might behave inconsistently and fail."

I thought 2GB was more then enough graphics memory? Using MSI afterburner I have never gone above 1300MB VRAM usage during gaming sessions. I game on a 26 inch monitor at 1920x1200.

Can anyone help me stop these errors? Or is this something more serious like a dodgy card?

It is with some games, such as left for dead 2. It has also happened, although not often, when not doing graphically intensive processes (just on desktop and internet browser).

Left 4 Dead is Direct X 9.

It uses OpenGL on the Mac versions. (1&2).

Sounds like a bad card to me (sorry for being a bit negative)..

Have you used Driversweeper in safe mode to clear out all older drivers before installing a different one?

your probably using the beta driver that was out i think last week, it has a severe memory leak issue.

i also had a similar issue in an opengl game, may have been PREY. i cant remember what i did to fix it, but it was a setting in the nvidia control panel, something to do with opengl extension limit or something. worked afterwards perfectly fine.
