Hi everyone,
I've been getting the dreaded amdkmdap driver stopped working error on my MSI 660R for a few weeks now and looking for some advice to get to the bottom of it. The error only happens in some games I've been playing Deus Ex Human Revolution for long sessions and Borderlands it's been fine every time but 10 mins on TF2 or CSS can cause the error. I thought it was to do with Source engine games and not UT3 engine games but I just got Red Orchestra 2 and it is affected as well. Now I've tried removing all traces of the graphics drivers and reinstalling and this helped get Borderlands and Deus Ex working stable, but not the other games. Now I have upgraded my MSI changed the CPU from the stock i5 460m to a i7 920QM and I upped the RAM from 6GB to 8GB. Now I know the error can be caused if the GFX chip isn't receiving enough power could the new CPU be taking power away from the GFX chip?
Any help or suggestions much appreciated.
