Hi,

I have two screens connected to my graphics card,

Main monitor via dvi, and secondary via HDMI.

My Main screen is 1080p (1920x1080 res) my secondary is 720p as it is a tv.

I have clicked on exchange displays in common display tasks, and it has sent my desktop over to that over screen, however the tv now says (Mode not supported), my main screen has no input as it is blank.

If i unplug the tv the signal returns to the main display, how do i undo (exchange displays inside the control centre)

Cheers Jon.

I have also changed the resolution on the first screen, and the plugged the second monitor into that port, and it still says mode not supported, even though i know the tv supports that resoution.

I just cant get it to stop exchanging displays when i plug in that second monitor,

Please can i have some help with this, i use dual screen a lot, and its just bugging me.

under the ati control centre, there is an option under common display tasks, rotate desktop, detect display, and exhange display. I had both plugged in at the time, and it sent the desktop over to that other screen. But the second monitor doesnt support the resolution, so it comes up saying "Mode not Supported".

My main screen is blank as there is no input at all, if i unplug the cable from the second display the signal returns the first screen.

How do i undo Exchange displays in Ati control centre?

i cant disable the second screen in ccc, because in order for me to do that i need the screen plugged in and i cant see anything on the screen because when i plug the second screen in i get no signal on the first screen so unable to disable it.

Any other suggestions?

i think the card comes with a dvi to hdmi adapter, if you have it have you tried running both off dvi to see if it allows you to use your primary display (monitor).

could try connecting your monitor to the dvi port thats linked to the hdmi one, as it can only use the dvi or hdmi not both and i think the dvi overrides hdmi.

sorry for the late reply, i have just uninstalled ccc and drivers, restarted, used driver sweeper, restarted again, and then install fresh drivers from ati website.

I am using both DVI connections already, one straight dvi to first monitor, and then the second with the adapter dvi to hdmi. i cant use the hdmi port the cable i have got has got to big of a casing around it that it just wont go in far enough into the port.

try the following after plugging in both displays (depending on how its setup), not sure if it will work but worth a try :

Win+Shift+Right Arrow Key to Move Active Window to Right Monitor
or
Win+Shift+Left Arrow Key to Move Active Window to Left Monitor

also might be worth a try win+P

win = windows key.
