hi :D

ive unlocked my 550be and it was running ok but i had dodgy ram (put up with it for about a year) and only just got round to getting some new ram (thanks ocuk) and its now working perfectly so trying to do the overclock i wanted to do ages ago

ive got the cpu multiplier x17 and the ht link is at x10 (2000 in the bios) but it shows up as 826 in cpu-z  is this just a wrong value in cpu-z or am i doing something wrong

many thanks for any help, just want to get this sorted out used to get bsod with my old value ram and had to run it under speed so this corsair xms3 stuff from ocuk is working a treat

when i run it at standard 2 cores it shows 2000 for the ht link

but if i unlock 3 or 4 cores then the ht link will go to 800

does the mean unlock failed?

try setting your fsb to 200 manually, i have an asrock board that as soon as the ht link goes above 1000 is switches down to the next mutliplier automatically no matter what i set in the bios.

allright bud thanks for the reply, appreciate it

tried it on manual settings and still get 800 ( with no multiplier when cpu is x17 its 820 odd)

here is my bios settings

try it at just under 200 fsb and see what you get, if its still clocking down a multiplier even with the ht just under 1000 then that is very strange.

strange indeed (pain in the a** ;) )

the fsb frequency values are from 200-600 so wont let me change below 200

have tried the ht link multiplier on auto - x2 - x10 but cant get anything other than 800

have also tried 3 cores with 4th disabled, and 4 cores with 3rd disabled

that is strange indeed then, with the cpu at its native dual core does it run the ht at 2000 ?
if it does the only thing i can think is that maybe due to the increased power needs of the cpu unlocked to a tri core the board is limiting power elsewhere on the board maybe to try and keep its power usage in check ?

yes reports ht link as 2000 as a dual core, have been scouring the internet for info and havent seen anything about a failed unlock prompting the ht link to be under, bsod / no post yes.... (have tried 3rd core disabled and also 4th core disabled same ht link 800 reported)

havent touched any voltages apart from the RAM, perhaps should set some manually?

thanks for your help man
