I have had a few problems with my new msi 7850 twin rozr edition. But over the weekend I have noticed the biggest problem yet. While playing diablo 3 for many hours over the weekend it started to have some graphics issues. Now i notice the issue primarily on the menus and it looks like a problem that i would expect from over heating.

The screen sorts of flickers across the screen in the middle, i think its called tearing but i am not sure exactly what tearing looks like. It has happened a few times while in game and i noticed it once while watching a movie. This did not happen with my previous 3850 card which i used for 5 years

Are these new cards problematic in general, am i expected to put with graphic problems like this, ie will another card be exactly the same. I realy don't want to RMA, as such a hassle. I have made a video of the problem that i will upload at some point. But has anyone had similar problems or know if i should increase cooling in my case. :(

I tried messing with the vsync didn't help.

The graphics card automatically controls voltage and fan speed and clock speed.

not sure how messing with voltage is going to solve it? You think the automatically controlled voltage setting is inadequate ? i have not overclocked it.

It's just a power slider in ccc overdrive,it just allows more peak voltage for 3d clocks so it might help, you don't unlock voltages

Windows 7 and i am back on the 11.10 drivers because the beta drivers caused graphic problems in quake live. Which i made a post about.

Most of the time it is allright but for some reason this to me looked like an over heating problem. But it is difficult to see temps because as soon as i minimize the game the clock speed goes to 300 and the temps reduce by 20.

Never had this problem or any problems on my 3850.

Just quickly - is the flickering kind of like dark and light lines and are you using a VGA cable? If so change to a DVI and it will go away. I had this problem last week with a new 7850. Googled the issue and it is common.

I am using a DVI cable at the moment in a dell u2412m. I have since seen the same graphic anomaly across the same section of screen while watching a hd movie.

I just bought a mini display port cable and will try that. I am considering upgrading my psu because currently it is a corsair 550w and I am running two ssd ocz 60gb and 6 sata hard drives off it and i think this might be having some negative effect.

But if i notice any more issues with this card I will probably consider RMA but considering it costs like £40 (to rma) it realy annoys me that i didn't get a perfect card. No doubt the card would get sent back as working because the problem is slight and occurs rarely.

Over the weekend ill try and get a better recording of the issue.
