MSI 7970 CF Temp Issues

Today I installed 2 X MSI 7970 Twin Frozr.

According to GPU-Z, one card idles at 60c with 99% GPU Load and the other is 40c with 30% Load ? This doesn't look right.

Any ideas?

nope thats quite high for an idle. Swap the cards over in position on the mobo and see if they stay the same.
If the same card is still hot at idle, you may want to take it apart and add some thermal paste

I downgraded the drivers to 13.4. I was using the latest beta drivers.

This seems to have fixed the issue. Idle at 38c and 33c now.

The problem is ULPS is bugged. I cannot stress how much you want to be on the 13.10 beta driver. Remove 13.4, restart, install 13.10 beta, open regedit and search for "EnableUlps" without quotations, change it from 1 to 0, F3 for next search, change that from 1 to 0, restart = ENJOY

Probably you have the bit coin virus...
it makes the 1st gpu be at 99% when in idle.

Would the OP not see the same thing with the 13.4's too if it was a bit coin?

Clearly not the case here, a driver change has sorted it.
