MSI 7970 Issue

Hi,

I recently RMA'd a MSI 7970 due to artifacts.
A replacement was eventually sent to me and worked fine for a week or so.
I am now getting an issue, usually when getting to the logon screen in Windows 7:
The screen goes black, computer still running ok.
If I turn the monitor off then back on, the picture returns.
I also get the occasional black screen randomly when browsing the internet or gaming etc.
All my drivers are up-to-date, I am running the latest ATI driver.....also tried older driver versions....cant figure it out.
I have even switched the DVI cable into the other display output on the gfx card, still the same issue.
Can anybody advise?

Have you updated to the most recent drivers?

If that doesn't work, I'd go for an RMA again!

Not tried that, is it worth trying?
Thing is, does not happen every time, sometimes boots ok but then after a while the same, repeat/rinse

Yes, all latest drivers across my whole system.

Just noticed that when dragging a window across the screen, it leaves a trail behind it, similar to the settings that you can change on a mouse pointer.

PSU problem? Shouldn't be but you never know.

How can I check that, any ideas (the previous card was confirmed as a definite fault)?
