As per title....
I know the argument between IDE and AHCI for an SSD, thats not the question, the question is,
How do I get to select in this BIOS? I can find nothing that will allow me to select AHCI anywhere apart from RAID which is not what I want.
As you might guess, BIOS is mostly unknown territory for me, selecting boot order is about all I have ever done in BIOS, so help with this appreciated.

It's under integrated peripherals section, change SATA mode to AHCI.
I have a P67A-G45 and this is where the setting is.

Actually I have looked there, and it has PCI busmaster IDE reader enable or disable, Sata controller enable or disable, and raid, AHCI or IDE or RAID.
Tried each and all of these and various combinations, none of which work............Crummy BIOS I think. I did use the live BIOS update thats on the MB utiites CD ( before I read the note from MSI urging that it not be used it was likely to brick your machine) and it updated the BIOS from rev c to rev f but again no difference.
I would be perfectly happy to just use the SSD in IDE, but even that does not want to work. Surely a board this age should be capable of using an SSD?
