Hi all I'm having problems trying to install an MSI 9800ti onto a Gigabyte X79 UD3 motherboard. The board currently has a working card (GTX600) in it just now and I can access the bios no problem and basically do everything as expected with a normal working pc.
The minute I install the new card I get the same window offering me the same splash screen...del to enter bios etc but it doesnt fill the whole screen, its windowed like an old 4x3 telly and I'm completely locked out of it, my keyboard lights up but does nothing on screen. I've checked the bios doesnt have any 'security/hardware/lockout' features enabled or any other obvious settings.
Here's what I've tried so far;
1) Set bios to defaults using the older card that works.
2) Tried using multiple connections...HDMI/DVI.
3) Tried using 3 different keyboards/monitors.
I was actually convinced I had a faulty card and sent it back to OC, it was returned as working fine so I'm now thinking the board is not compatable with the card but as it's a nice Gigabyte board and only 2 years old I'm not so sure what to do now....I'm gonna flash the bios as a last attempt to get it working.
Any help/suggestions/advice/links would be very much appreciated right now as it's sooooo frustrating.
