Is this zero fan speed a bit of a gimmick? The card will idle at high temperatures and the fan speed required to bring the core down to around 40c will be minimal and barely audible.

What's the point in the GPU fans sitting still when the heatsink and intake/exhaust fans will still be spinning?

Yeh i cant see it being anything but a gimmick especially with some cards on low RPM would be almost impossible to hear.

I guess its a nice feature for those that value a very quiet system for low use tasks like browsing etc. But in my case, I've just set my own profile which still keeps the card very quiet. My CPU fans are louder due to the bios profile I use, case fans are all on a controller which allows them to be turned off if required.
