Hi guys,
Earlier today, my PC died on me - no signal to the monitor, all fans still running, HDD quiet.
On reboot, it won't POST at all.
- fans start up
- cpu and northbridge phase leds come one
- hdd led on mobo comes on for a fraction of a second
- hdd spins a bit, then stops
Nothing new happens beyond this point. No beeps, no signal to the monitor and no debug code on the mobo display (in fact it doesn't light up at all). Everything seems to be getting power - reset and power switches on the mobo are lit up, but unresponsive.
I've tried different RAM, just using one stick, disconnecting both HDD individually and both at the same time, disconnecting everything but the gfx, cpu and 1 stick of ram. All yield the same result.
Edit - also tried it with a fresh HDD. Same result
Any ideas on other stuff I can try?
Motherboard, gfx, ram, cpu and psu all about 3 months old and have been running with no problems until today.
Is my mobo dead, after 3 months of use (not overclocked)?
All help appreciated.
Cheers,
mm
