msi afterburner not saving in profile slots

hello,
I used msi afterburner in the past and downloaded it again when i got the 1080 Ti.

the issue i am having is when it comes to saving my settings in the profile slots 1 to 5. it says profile saved however the profile number is greyed out (normally lit up or white) and when i hover the mouse over it says profile slot empty/

Is the padlock open ?

Are you hitting 'Apply' before saving ?

managed to get it all working using 4.4 beta version. 4.3 will not save for me no matter what.
