MSI Afterburner v4.2.0 Released

All i wanted to do, was to up my core slightly, so i can lock em for the Crimsons. :p

I don't run with an overclock anyway so it only bothers me that we got lied to and that I can't stick decent scores on the benching threads.

But as we've seen it overclocks great on LN ........

So thumbs up to AMD for supporting 0.00008% of the market.

Let's see them overclocks. Now we can truly see if these fury's are a overclockers dream :)

Its the only way to stop the clock bouncing in the Crimsons, as they wont lock at stock clocks, so im only running mine at 1042 :p

Well that's it then, It is 100% beyond doubt that Fury X is not an " overclockers dream".

It is infact, a load of BS.

Plus 96mv -1200 crash, 1170 crash, 1150 crash.

with all the other crap i've had with CF, it's broken me now, X2 Fury x's and a 1440P freesync monitor on route to MM.

They shouldn't have call all this overclockers dream... Very bad tbh

But my I just ask outside of benchmarking would you really notice a difference between 1000 core vs 1200? How much fps gain would you expect from that?

Overclocking noob here

I hate to be that guy but I am gonna be and I did say from the off that I doubt these will clock well with voltage. Joe Macri claiming it as "An overclockers dream" was a total joke tbh and out of order.

Sad to hear. Though not surprised in the slightest. If it was a overclockers dream, the tools that let the card shine would have been out a long time ago.

Best bet just sell one and enjoy the other until 14/16nm cards come out.

Whatever you do, do not go selling these and going SLI. You will just end up annoyed/disappointed once again. Stick with a single gpu card. Maybe try a 980Ti and overclock that :)

Yea. What a stupid comment to make. Even if he meant on LN, he should have known better.

Maybe this is why AMD have a keep silent unless great news policy. lol. Not that I like that anyway.

Let us hope with Raja now in charge, things will improve. I thought it was a good move on his part hiring Scott Wasson.

Yep, the bells were ringing when it was taking way too long for the VC to appear, even i said i wouldn't get your hopes up when it does.

About time they allowed their AIBs to whack Air coolers on the Xs now then, as the pumps are just not needed, you can't overclock much, so they are overkill, Air coolers will handle the slight overclocks fine.

The clue to this being a pile of junk was Matt saying he's had it a few weeks and not coming here with his usual "just wait and see" type comments, as he probably already knew it was going to be a washout and did not want to embarrass himself.

Sad times really, i was well hyped for the Fury-X prior to its launch, but like faildozer the expectations and reality are two very different things :(

Hopefully AMD can get themselves back on track in the near future as i find less and less reason to buy their products with every passing day, i almost feel forced to buy Nvidia, however i fear that soon may be the only option if you want to remain in PC gaming with all the bells and whistles.

Explains why matt never responded when asked about his overclocks. :(

Probably not Shanks no bud, it's not just that though, it's the whole experience, it's not been an enjoyable one in my case, i'm quite gutted tbh, i've had annoying issues with CF, be that poor CF profiles or lack of any profile at all (Hidden Dangerous, my most played game along with Squad)

The Overclocking is an issue because i like to tinker and try increasing performance, like benchmarking, just not happening with these cards.

As singles they are brilliant though, but i bought into the whole CF and Freesync (which i do think is awesome), spent all my money which i'm by no means rich, I used my injury payout from forces to fund it thinking i'll be set for a good few years.

Just feel like i've been kicked in the balls and lied to if i'm honest.

Just hope i can claw back most of the money and crack on.

Disappointing to say the least. Those that unlocked the voltage months back managed over 1200 on the core but i think they were using around 150mv or above. You would still expect 95 mv to be giving a decent gain.

Just an idea Dave, but maybe just drop down to 1 card for a while? It'll lessen the financial impact and Freesync should take care of any lows nicely imo.

Then jump in with both feet when the next round of cards appear in 7/8 months :)

I understand mate, if I was you I would move away from Multi-GPU even sli they all just not worth the time.

Do what you feel is best, but if I was you I would just sell one furyx get some money and now wait for next year.

BUT if you're going SLi then make sure that one of the cards (the top one!) is a Hybrid tbh, it'll handle the heat a lot better and hold those overclocks nicely ;)
