Anyone here experienced this before.
I managed to get my 7950 overclock stable with Msi AB 1100/1500 @1.131v anything below that and games/heaven would crash my drivers.
I since started using Trixx because I dont want or need the extra feature's afterburner brings, with Trixx I just right away put the same Voltage 1.131v and was done with it.

Tonight I decided to see how low I could go on the voltage put it to 1.1v and no crash has of yet BF3 and Heaven?
Where before with Afterburner I couldn't even last 10 mins on BF3, anything lower than 1.131v my driver would crash.

Anyone noticed this before?

Don't know the answer to your question, but noticed your XFX HD7950 DD voltage adjustment is working in AB.

Is yours like mine, the normally locked 7950 DD?

If yes, I tried the usual manually editing of the config files to enable unofficial..., but no luck, which just led me to use Trixx which does allow unlocking the locked voltage, and does it also let you add voltage to the vram?

Any insight?

As using just AB would be better than using both as I use AB's OSD.:)

I heard someone say that Trixxx handles voltage better. After testing both in gpu-z though i found no difference. I have a little bit of voltage drop but both seem to apply the same amount of voltage. Will have to test and see if i can run lower volts with trixxx, i doubt it though.

I got my card on release week of the 7900 series mate, think this was before they started locking them down.

If you do get the time to test mate do let us know your findings :-)

When i had a mess about overclocking with ab and trixx i found trixx to be more stable than ab but i do prefer the osd options on afterburner, cant have it i spose

See I dont need or use the other Afterburner features. I have ReadeonPro for OSD, Dxtory if recording and GPU-z for reading.

:D

The dropdown arrow to the right of the core voltage slider in ab allows you to adjust mem volts.

Or have you tried that already?

Yes, I have tried

when I use the drop down it shows mem(AUX) voltage but can't alter voltage.

Unless I'm missing something ?(I normally do ):D

Are you using a default skin? Some of the custom ones have some options missing i noticed.

AUX and MEM volts should be two different things in the drop down, AUX will always be greyed out unless you have an MSI GPU with advertised 'triple overvoltage'.

AUX just increases the voltage on the PCI lane afaik.

I need to try and trail running both AB and trixx together as trixx offers me higher core voltage and AB offers me memory voltage.

OOPS:o

Its been there all the time - head - table - bang - repeating - doh :D

@Paul check your trust please

Done mate :)

You're not missing much by not having control of aux voltages, as standard you only get control over 30mv anyhow. Its another feature that only shows it worth when paird with afterburner extreme and sub zero cooling :)

Have the same thing on my Gigabyte 7870, MSI AB vs TRIXX.

MSI AB i get BSOD with voltage unlock, but with TRIXX its perfect.
