I've just got a new 6950. Overclocked it a bit using Afterburner, and manually set a fan profile. Only problem is, this fan profile only works when MSI Afterburner is running, meaning I have to have it open whenever I play a game. Also if I close it after playing the fan jumps up in speed.

Also sometimes when I boot the fan will be running at 50%, and 50% will be the manual setting in CCC - even though I haven't set it.

How can I have it so that the MSI Afterburner fan profile is always paramount? And does its profile only come into effect when the program is running, meaning it has to be up whenever I play a game?

Enusre manual fan control is unticked in CCC, I find this conflicts with AF.

Yes, in order for the fan profile to work, AF needs to be open at all times. You can set it up to start up at boot and minimised to the notifications area anyway. I've setted it up like this and it works great for 24/7 use.
