Hi can anyone tell me if there are any issue with this motherboard,as it is not a cheap one ! MSI P6N nForce 680 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard i,ve just read mixed reports on here about MSI being pretty bad ,seems a lot to pay if its a bad board etc

As said before the MSI is exactly the same as the BFG/EVGA/ECS/BIOSTAR 680i Motherboards they are all nVidia Reference Design Motherboards. The only thing that is different is the packaging and warranties supplied with each brand.

I have not had a problem with the BFG motherboard i own upgraded to the P24 BIOS and experienced no problems what so ever.

They are all exactly the same, if the MSI was bad so would the rest of the batch that BFG/EVGA/ECS/BIOSTAR has.

My advice would be either to get a 680i or a BADAXE 2 motherboard, both very good quality motherboards. If your not sure about the MSI then get the EVGA or BFG package.

DOS BIOS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Copy the new BIOS (691N1P24.BIN), the DOS-based BIOS Update Utility (NVFLSHSC.EXE), and the flash.bat files to a floppy disc or bootable USB flash drive.

2. Using a bootable floppy or bootable USB flash drive, boot to DOS.

3. Type "flash" at the DOS prompt to begin the BIOS update. Alternatively, you can type the command line "NVFLSHSC.EXE 691N1P24.BIN".

4. Once the flash process is complete, remove the floppy/USB drive and reboot the system.

5. IMPORTANT: Upon reboot, press <Delete> to enter the BIOS, and select "Load Optimized Defaults".
