Msi armor Rx 570 8GB oc Memory Clock issues

Hi all,

I have an issue with games crashing a lot, after checking after burner logs I see cpu usage doesn't go above 70% and a similar situation for RAM. On GPU it's maxing out a lot with gpu clock raising with demand all beit not to its full potential, but the memory clock is only raising from its idle 300 to 540 :/ the bar is set to 1750 or 1250 or what ever it should be, gpu and memory clocks I forget which one

What's weird is bearing in mind I have a phenom ii 965... my cpu should be bottlenecking the gpu not the other way round. And my RAM is only 8GB 1333 Mhz Ddr3. The gpu should be handling everything they throw at it right?

Is there any way to force gpu and memory clock to go to maximum during full screen applications?

I checked settings and doesn't seem to be an option

Anyone know a fix? Pwease :p

First things first. Have you just got the card, or have you had it a while. Use Ddu to completely remove the drivers and reinstall. Go into windows event viewer and when you have a crash what AMD driver error message do you have.

Card is about 10 months old - I bought it about 5 months ago - had been used for mining so flashed the bios to standard, completely deleted drivers and did fresh install. Tried 19.8.2 but kept loading windows to blank black desktop with a curser, completely uninstalled and freshly installed 19.8.1 which sorted that issue, but all driver updates/rollback have been complete removals and fresh installs and not just updates. Il have to check the log for errors it gives

Also card is a gddr5 card and temps don't get above 60 as I have put my own configuration for the fans as they didn't seem to be kicking in on auto.

To clarify have you overclocked the memory and core? IF so could the game be throttling and crashing? I had an MSI RX 570 8gb, it's now in my Dad's PC, but I remember it didn't overclock very well and often crashed when overclocked

Iv never overclocked it, as far as I know after burner isn't either except for msi's out of the box oc over reference

But ye the memory clock is only reaching 540 - and gpu clock is better but still a good 300 under msi's preset

As a sanity check is your bios up to date. Do you have the latest chipset drivers installed. Need that error message from event veiwer

Sorry about late reply I haven't been able to get back on my PC for a few days been really busy.

Right so just had a crash... Where would I look in event viewer?

I have no errors for the time of the CTD - only "information":

svchost (3380,G,98) The beta feature EseDiskFlushConsistency is enabled in ESENT due to the beta site mode settings 0x800000.
