So I happen to be crashing at mate's place here in London as I'm working here for the time being.

This weekend I am alone in the house and he has a nice s939 setup which I can play around with.
Board is MSI Neo4 Platinum. X2 3800 CPU with 1.34 vcore.
He has four :( ram sticks installed, x2 Geil 512 and x2 kingston 256.
I am guessing performance is being affected badly by this configuration?

MSI seem all good, however their website is a nightmare. It is slower than a turtle on weed. I am trying to get hold of Live Update so I can update his bios and clock his CPU so he gets proper value for money. Any other locations for live update and bioses? All sites I find re-direct to msi.tw which is a joke.

You reckon the x2 256 sticks are waste of space and only kill performance?

I'm pretty sure Kingston memory and MSI boards don't mix that well, along with running at 2t instead of 1t, and the probable difference in spec resulting in it all running at the lowest spec, I'd say the 2x256mb sticks probably won't be worth it.
As for the MSI site being slow, I havn't really ever had any problems with it. Does he have Live Update installed on his comp?? Or are you trying to go to the update direct from the web?
I've got the same board and have the latest bios and it clocks well and is rock solid.
Heres a link for the newest bios (May 06): http://us2.msi.com.tw/support/bos_exe/mbd_bios/7125v1D.zip
It should have the flash utility in the zip folder.
Any questions about clocking with this board just ask :)
