Hi Everyone,

First time building a PC and finally got my hands on a 5600x. I just flashed 7C91vA51 which I just noticed is a Beta Bios for the B550 Tomahawk.

Do you think that will be ok or should i roll it back to the AGESA bios before it?

CPU arrives on Wednesday so would like to be ready to go when it gets here.

No you want the latest BIOS, so that one is good for now. Keep it :)

Just check there isn't another last minute update before you install new CPU, so you can update to that beforehand if needed.

Beta means Bugs - if you don't mind flashing your bios in case things don't work - it's ok.
I would start with stable bios to make sure CPU and system is ok, and than move to beta one to measure any performance improvements or maybe slow downs...

if its been up a few days week its usually fine.
the a51 for my b550 a-pro been up since 3 weeks.
so if there had been an issue with it msi would pull it down.

MSI has well known issue with update of BIOS with MSI control center from Windows. Still they quote it in manual and brick the MB (in ~50% cases) requiring disassemble and BIOS flash...

I personally would avoid all betas. MSI is also known to be putting bios on their site quite quickly and then retract them later.

However, I don’t think the current latest bios (beta) will cause you any ill effects. The beta status is relating to SAM. I suspect they (AMD) put beta status on the AGESA is to allow people to play around with the new 5000 cpu and the 6000 GPU. There will probably be another AGESA out later to address any teething issues. But if you don’t have 5000 CPU or 6000 GPU, you won’t see problems.
