Is anyone else having trouble changing bios settings with MSI bios since the latest update.

I have 2 x pc one a MSI z790 pro max and the other a MSI z690 Unify. Both have latest bios installed. Both will not save any changes I make in the bios. I also have issues on both machines when pressing delete to get into the bios where it goes to windows boot screen asking me to select an operating system. I then have to press escape and quickly press delete to get into bios.

I have a 14700kf on one pc and 13600kf on the other.

I have googled this problem but can not find the solution. Any ideas anyone?

I am guessing the boot issue is down to not being able to save the correct boot order in the bios even though you set it its not being saved.

Have you tried removing the cmos battery for 20 mins and disconnecting it from the mains? (While disconnected from the mains and battery out hold the power bottom down for 30 seconds as well, will clear any remaining in the system)

Tried rolling back 1 version of the bios and see if you have the same issue?

reading some similar posts online I saw that it could be a boot issue as I have more than 1 drive on both machines, So i went in to bios and disabled the other boot options to just leave the boot drive. It took about 6 or 7 attempts to get it to save but it made no difference. I still get the boot window when pressing delete and it still wont save changes without having to try at least 5 or more times to get it to accept the changes and most of the time it wont do it. Very frustrating
I have changed the battery on the z690 board as it is the older board but not tried removing the battery and powering off. Will give it a try

Have you ever dual booted with 2 or more operating systems?
You may have to remove the dual boot menu.

no but The m.2 drives have been boot drives in the past. As I have bought newer drives I have changed the system drive. Maybe the older drives are being picked up as the system drive, even though I deleted the partitions on all drives when installing windows maybe there are still files on the drives that i can not see, does that make sense?

If you did not seceure erase or full format the old drives it could have left some hidden boot files.

Not sure if this would cause your other issues though.

Maybe try rolling back a bios version or even flashing to the new bios again.

on the z690 i rolled back 5 bioses but still same, I am thinking it is something to do with the new microcode on the latest bios as it has affected both computers
