Is a Corsair CX600W PSU enough to handle this?

I keep getting Event 41 kernel power problems which I have had a look at, and it appears to boil down to one of a few problems: Driver issues or PSU issues. I'm pretty sure I've negated the driver issue because I'm using the exact same drivers as I was before I reinstalled Windows (the PC was sent back as an RMA because the sound was faulty and I couldn't get it to boot).

The only change I've made from the original system is: more Ram, and a 580 graphics card instead of a 460. It's an i5 overclocked.

CX600W has 480W on the 12v so theoretically that should be enough for a GTX580. I saw one review that put their test rig at 440W power draw while others are in the mid 300s.

Ok I've stress tested my system an awful lot because I had problems since getting it back...and the conclusion I've reached is that this PSU (my one, not necessarily the model) will not support an (MSI) GTX 580.

Sticking my 460 back in has returned stability to my system, and gotten rid of the Kernel-Power (Error 41) issues I was having.

So; is it a faulty PSU? The voltages required look fine, looking at Teal'cs figures though it does appear to push it a little, but the PSU should work just fine. What are my options in terms of buying a PSU (which I have to say I'm reluctant to do but will consider it).

The Corsair CX series are not as good as the rest of the Corsair range. Previously their cheap end PSUs were Seasonic OEM and excellent but now they are CWT OEM and not so much.

Bugger. Not sure I want to buy a new psu :p.

Any suggestions Teal'c? Really appreciate the help so far; and I don't really know much about PSUs. Corsair? OCZ? Antec? OcUK?!

Ooh I've just had a though; could the psu be struggling because of a system overclock?
