Hi everyone,

Can I get information somewhere deciphering the last 3 letters in this model? what does QPF mean and what is the difference between QRF?

Is it possible to say that the G274QPF-QD is probably a refresh of the famous MAG274QRF-QD , which is rumored to be discontinued and the 2022 model G274QPF-QD will come in its place.

Does anyone have any information about the G274QPF-QD. The monitor is already on the market, but there are absolutely no reviews on it. Is anyone the owner of this monitor?

Welcome aboard.

It's pretty much just downgraded version with lower colour gamut than QRF. (propably cutting green/cyan extension)
5Hz difference between 165 and 170 is simply completely meaningless.

Thanks for the welcome

yes I agree, very likely there is a some part downgraded version. but it's still QD (quantum dots) and it's positioned as a fairly wide color gamut. we also see very good ADOBE RGB / DCI-P3 / SRGB as well as 80% REC.2020 but what does "P" stand for in labelling? (QPF). I really hope that someone has this monitor now and can give feedback about it. I'm more interested in Response Time, Input Lag, Contrast, and Black Uniformity.

MAG274QRF has really good response times and basically zero input lag from processing.
And contrast is actually higher than normal for IPS.
Uniformity is again always lottery between individuals and possibly production batches.

But with QPF being clearly aimed at lower budget, unlikely that it has any of those better.

Unfortunately there is still no review, mostly third-party information is taken from the msi site

Despite my optimism, I probably agree that the G274QPF-QD loses in comparison with the MAG series, based on price alone. But this model is really new and I want to believe that it is much better than the G273QPF, while it is still the price range of 300-400 euros, this is the range of such monitors as LG 27GP850 or M27Q-P which are very successful in the market in this category. But personally, I can't accept LG's contrast level despite all the advantages of this monitor, while the M27Q-P also has nano-ips with all its pluses and minuses. MSI MAG in comparison with these monitors gives the best results in contrast and slightly loses in the rest. If we see at least some kind of test, then I hope that the G series (G274QPF-QD) will also be a competitor to LG and Gigabity models

Talking about the difference in contrast, I mean this good example between msi mag274qrf (Rapid IPS) - lg 27gp850 (Nano IPS)

One of the reddit users purchased this monitor and kindly sent me a several photos. It would be great to hear some third-party opinions about the viewing angles and the glow effect. do you think this is normal?

Monitors unboxed has tested this monitor and it's little downgrade from MAG274QRF-QD in response times and also lacks single overdrive mode good for all framerates.

Yeah, we finally saw the review. actually it is far from MAG... I really hoped for an acceptable contrast.

Anyway i'm still on the lookout for a 27" 1440p gaming monitor and so far my list consists of:
LG27GP850 345 eur
M27Q-P ~400+ eur
M27Q-X 555 eur
G274QPF ~408 eur
MAG274QRF-QD or (non QD) 595/495 eur

I am planning to use the monitor for some gaming and watching movies as well as everyday activities and I would like to have an acceptable contrast ratio close to 1000:1 or higher.

PS. LG looks like a really good choice, but I returned it after a week of use due to bleeding in the lower left corner and a mediocre black color. but I just don't see alternatives. MAG series or M27QX would be an alternative but in my opinion it is not worth the extra 180 euros. what do you say about it is it worth the extra investment or should I just accept poor contrast or other downgrades and look towards M27q P or G274QPF or LG?

Just got a LG27GP850 and really happy with it. Plus ports are really accessible and settings are straight forward to use. Pretty well set up out of the box - just a few tweaks were needed.

How do you feel about LG's contrast ratio? Don't you have a bleeding backlight in the bottom left corner especially against a dark background?

I don't know how much of this can be considered the norm. but my LG looked like this, after TN it was frankly uncomfortable.

First two are IPS-glow.
Third is backlight leaking through because of low contrast.

Is this normal for LG 27GP850 or is my case a loss in the display lottery? The last picture was taken at close range and centred, but even at a distance the bleeding in the lower corner was still visible.

Is it true that by buying LG again I am likely to get the same thing and can I expect to get a better one with, say, an M27Q-P which also has Nano IPS?

Literally bad already 15 years ago contrast is feature of 27" 2560x1440 Nano-IPS panel and any monitor using it.
At lowest have seen ~750:1 in reviews, while best have been still substandard 850:1.
(32" version and 27" 4K have normal 1000:1 contrast)

AU Optronics panels can do closer to 1200:1 level.

Is there a database where we can see a list of monitor models that use a specific panel?

Actually what would you recommend at the moment? i was planning to buy the mag274QRF-QD (or without QD) but since december the prices in europe have risen significantly on this monitors. also as far as i know the M27Q-X uses a sharp panel with a very good contrast ratio close to 1200:1

So do you think this is not the best time to buy and should just wait for the price to change? I personally see a choice between LG with poor contrast and great price or MAG or M27QX with unreasonably high price but more acceptable panel. However, this choice makes the purchase disappointing.
