Hi All. Last week I bought an MSI GF63 Gaming laptop from OcUK. Pleased so far. I use it mostly connected to a Dell G2422HS 24 Inch Full HD (1920x1080) Gaming Monitor and this has G-Sync. Looking into this tonight, I thought I would try and get this working. I cannot see any G-Sync options in the Nvidia control panel and I believe that this is because I am currently connecting with an HDMI cable. Can someone confirm this is the case?

If so then I have determined that to connect this laptop to the monitor with a display port cable, that I would need a USB C to DisplayPort Cable. I cannot see any on OcUK, but there are plenty on Amazon. So is this worth doing? Would the picture quality be any better? Is G-Sync worth it?

Thanks in advance.

For the sake of £12, it's worth a go.

There are a lot of awful USB-C to DP cables out there though, I've 3 in my drawer that have issues one way or another.

I think I settled on an official Dell one when they were on offer for about £15, though the £12 UGREEN one might be alright for you.

I think some laptops have their USB-C connected to the integrated graphics and not the dedicated GPU, so G-Sync might not work but it's worth a try.

G-Sync is definitely worth having, I've had a G-Sync monitor since 2016 and it was one of the most noticeable upgrades I've ever seen :D
