Hiya,

I'm hoping i will be able to get some help with this here, so far no luck on MSI.

I purchased an MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II OC in hopes of upgrading my GTX 250. Installed the new GFX ok , downloaded drivers and restarted as advised.

After restart i get no boot (no display) on both monitors (tried on DVI and VGA (with DVI Connectors)..So far i got so angry i ordered another motherboard but now i have doubt it could not be a motherboard issue.

Current Specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5 650 - 3.2 GHz Dual-Core
MotherBoard: Medion MS - 7616
Memory: 2x - 4GB G.Skill DDR3 PC3-10666 Ripjaw Series (9-9-9-24)
Video Card: Current: GTX 250
OS: Windows 7 -64Bits
PSU: 600W Quiet Silent ATX PC Power Supply +12V

Things I've tried:

Used Driver Sweeper
Cleared CMOS
Used PCI Connectors that came with the 560

I don't have another computer to test the GFX nor do i know anyone with a more compatible system to test it.

Any advise / help will be appreciated.

Sounds like a generic PSU able to couple with graphic that only require a single PCI-E 6pin power, but for cards that require two of them, it's pushing it too far.

Actually, I have to wonder if OP's PSU even has a 2nd PCI-E 6pin...may be he's only pluged one of them in not a 2nd one?

Hi, the PSU has 2 PCI-E 6 Pins, plugged it the same way back into my GTX 250 and everything worked fine.

Tried both monitors (1 VGA & 1 DVI +VGA).. no luck.

I just find it very strange it worked on first install and never again. I'll try and cancel the Motherboard order and get the PSU linked above.

The PSU was from ebay a long time ago, has no make :P Just say's "600W Quiet Silent ATX PC Power Supply" - Is that what's Killing me?

I very much suspect so. Even if it was'nt i still would'nt trust it. If it blows it could take the whole rig with it.

did u even need to reinstall drivers? i think when my 8800gtx died and i bought 250gts i didnt hv to do drivers but not sure

also u can try reinstall windows mabe dono? no point spending money before testing everything

I was about to open up a new topic but this sounds very similar to my problem so I'll just post it here:

First off, I've got 2 seperate problems which may or may not be related - the main problem is to do with what happens when I replace my GTX 260 with the new MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II OC card; the other, smaller problem is to do with turning on my computer on my system as it is.

Here are my specs:

Core 2 Duo 6600 @ 2.4Ghz (stock) with stock cooler
Asus P5W DH Deluxe (flashed to latest bios)
Corsair 4x1GB DDR2 6400 Ram 800Mhz, 4-4-4-12, 2.1v, 2x CM2X1024-6499C4D (slots 1 & 3) & 2x CM2X1024-6400C4DHX (slots 2 & 4)
EVGA GTX260 216 55nm SSC
Pioneer 111D DVD-RW combo drive (IDE)
Seagate 1TB SATA ST31000528AS hard drive
Enermax Liberty 500W modular PSU (ELT500AWT)
Lian Li PC-B25 (“blue ring”) case
Samsung Syncmaster T220 monitor (dual DVI connection)

So first, the minor problem: with the above system, when my computer is off, and I try to press the power button, nothing happens... unless I turn it off at the PSU, wait for a bit, then try pressing the power switch again, multiple times until it sparks to life. I flashed the bios, replaced the MB battery and at first I thought the battery replacement solved it, but I'm thinking those were flukes, because now the same thing happens again. It's not a huge deal, but I can't figure out what part of my system is causing it.

Now for the main problem, the new graphics card. I also bought an MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II OC graphics card the other day to replace the EVGA 260 card - but after I installed the new card the computer won't start... as in, the power runs, but there's nothing on the monitor at all. No signal, no beep from the motherboard to indicate the BIOS POST has popped up; just power going through the system. I wait to see if anything pops up, but all that happens is the rear case fan gives up and I start to hear a faint whine somewhere.

For some attempts though, if I'm lucky, BIOS POST does show up, but all I get is this message. Once when I pressed F1, nothing happened, it was just frozen; another time F1 worked and I managed to get into the BIOS and then escape that to continue on to Windows, where things seemed to be okay - but that seems to be a fluke. Other than those 2 occasions all that happens when I hit the power button is a signaless screen, no BIOS POST beep, and the rear fan eventually poops out.

I've reinstalled the GTX 260 and now everything works just fine. So, anyone have any ideas that can help? Would much appreciate it! :)

As per your second issue, seems to be exactly the same thing i'm going through. I'm yet to buy a new PSU because i was too quick with my hands to buy a new Mobo thinking that was the problem. Once i get a refund for that i'll buy the PSU recommended above and see / hope it works.

So it's most likely down to your PSU.

I've ordered a new PSU, which should be arriving tomorrow. It's the Cooler Master Silent Gold Pro 600W - has a single 12V rail with 48A. The 560ti apparently needs at least 32A on the 12V rail(s), so if the card still doesn't work after installing the new PSU, then I'll just have to wait until I upgrade the rest of my machine (which won't be until the Ivy Bridge CPUs come out...).

Funny thing is, my GTX260 needs something like 36A from the 12V rails, so there's a possibility it's not my PSU :/ I suppose if this doesn't work, I'll at least have a spare PSU to test with, should the need arrive...

ok, please let me know if it works with new PSU, otherwise i'll just contact MSI and get a RMA
