Hi 8pack

Just wanted to know if you have ever played with the Godlike board , they say its better than the ROG board .

Im interested in maybe a little tutorial on the board to get the best out of the 5960x , it has so many ways to overclock the CPU .this board also has the extra pins . im in the process of selling my OEM chip as it has no warranty as it came in my alienware pc a year ago and dont fancy frying it to get nothing back. i have since bought a new retail chip and would like input on the board if you have ever played it with it .

maybe i had a horrid chip as it was a pain just to get 4.3ghz . using 1.29v , 1.92 input and 1.15v on cache , i had the long and short term on 230v and droop on 75% .

or if anybody else has played with this board .

Thanks in advance .

I have tried the X Power a lot and that is a very solid board. Its clocking CPU and memory as high as any. As has good efficiency. The God like is very much an X power with afew more features. In this case I can say its not the board.

I think its a poor clocking CPU.

Thanks 8pack ..I have now got a J batch chip ..looking to drain system out next week when I have time and instal new retail chip .

I've now installed my new chip and wow .. my computer has now come to life . 4.5ghz stable on 1.199v with 2 hours of XTU stress test . might try for lower volts but all ive done is lower the volts after i got 1.224v on auto volts ..i got a blinder of a chip . not sure what i want now as i was going to be happy running 4.5ghz 24/7 now im thinking of pushing it to bench with .

and 8 pack was right about my last chip it was awful.

This motherboard now is putting a smile on my face and i havent even pushed it with this chip yet .

Good to hear you have finally sorted it and got it up to speed :D. 4.5ghz is plenty on that chip. Would be good to see exactly what its capable of though. Still waiting to see some benchmarks yet :p.

I wouldnt get overclocking insurance though. No way to test you have fried it. And having sent a fried 3770k i bought off ebay back to intel for a brand new replacement, intel makes that much money i doubt they care. Even paid for the postage there and back lol :D.

Blooming hell that's good of them ..They are good through Intel .

And now I've got the chip running on 1.199v at 4.5ghz ..With max temps of 55c. Might see if it will go lower ..I'm thinking this chip will go to 4.8ghz but it's to last me 3 years so I'm happy with 4.5ghz and low temps ..gaming now with my 2x 980ti is 6c cooler too and that's with a 500hz extra overcclock on the cpu on 8 cores ..so yea I'm a happy man .but I will see how far it goes .
