I have been looking for a 15.4 inches gaming laptop (I don't want 17 inches, that's too big and heavy), with a 9800M or equivalent graphics card, and a good resolution (I hate 1200*800 ). I also wanted to spend about £1000 on it.

I finally found it and it seems that it has it all: the MSI GT627

Core 2 Duo processor P8600 2.4GHz
15.4" WSXGA+ (1680x1050)
NVIDIA GeForce9800M GS, 1GB
4GB DDRII 800MHz
Storage: Blu-ray Read / DVD±R/RW Combo drive, SATA Interface, 320GB 7200RPM Hard Drive
Dimension: 15.56" (w) x 10.95" (d) x 1.04"~1.38" (h), 5.50 lbs with Battery Pack

It is sold for about $1300 in the US.

It seems to be the only one in that price range with a 9800M...

The big question is: where to find it in the UK?
If not available in the UK, where to find it in Europe?
Do you know any equivalent laptop for the same price range?

Cheers!

We cant link to competitors, but the ocuk ultima mobile custom lappys fit the spec perfectly, slightly over your budget though

I don't want the ultima mobile, which would cost about £400 for the same config! Plus I prefer a known brand like MSI rather than a custom build.

You can't link to competitors? That's harsh...

If anybody know where to find the MSI, I accept PMs...

I aslo saw the asus G50V, but it's the same problem if nobody can tell me where to find it

The forum rules say you can't link to competitors. If you try to work around it the mods will give you a "holiday" :)

that looks the same as my gx620, if you do find one pull the back two rubber feet off and then glue them back on with some super glue. Mine fell off within the first two days and finding them wasn't fun.

Other than that great machines and decent enough build quility, the red color is horrible and almost tacky, but hey I let that go as the price was right.

Ok, so I will just ask in that way: is it available in the UK, or am I loosing my time trying to find it?

If you cant find it for sale anywhere then I would suggest that its not for sale anywhere.....yet.
I wanted to buy an MSI gaming laptop a couple of months ago but gave up because of supply problems.
I did find some for sale but I felt the source was not legit.

might be worth waiting for a bit because the newer radeon/nvidia mobility cards arent in many laptops atm. (that are easily UK sourced)
