Hello All!

Has been a while since I have posted on these forums, just have a few questions/issues with my current graphics card and wondering if anyone can offer advice/help.

1: Every now and again my Graphics Driver seems to fail and shows a "Graphics Card Driver has failed and has been recovered" - prior to this message the screen goes blank/black then shows my desktop again.

2: When playing games or using full screen graphical applications it can freeze for a few seconds and I can't even utilise the CTRL-ALT-DEL function until it stops having a hissy fit.

I have only tried reinstallation of older/newer drivers so far and declocking my processor, don't know what else I can try.. which I why I need your help (:

My current setup is:

i7 (nehalem) 920 D0 Stepping @ Stock (used to be 4.5GHz OC)
6GB DRR3 RAM 1600MHZ
300GB HDD Velociraptor
1TB HDD
GTX 580 Twin Frozer 2
EVGA x58 SLI Mobo
Noctua Heatsink
Antec 1200
Windows Professional 64Bit

I will be selling the above rig soon without the graphics card but before I do I want to make sure the parts I am selling are in full working order (don't believe in conning people!)

Any help would be grately appreciated - thanks all!

Why does it say MSI Twin FrozerII Nvidia GTX570 in your sign when you asked about issues with a GTX 580 ?

Does it have an overclock on the GPU and have you tried resetting it to defaults or underclocking the GPU ?

If you get that "The display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" message whilst gaming and you have tried several different drivers, I would up the voltage on the core slightly. You will only need to add a little. I had the exact same thing (as have a lot of people) and a small voltage bump increase sorted it for me.

If volts were 1.160Mv, I would change it to 1.170Mv. (just an example)

Thankyou for the replies - just to confirm my signature is wrong and I do need the advice for the GTX580.

My GPU isn't OCed at all - though I will follow your advice this evening gregster and up the voltage, will get back to you on the outcome.

Cool and a guy had the exact same problem as you/us yesterday on another forum and my advice worked for him. Hopefully the same for you and let us know :)

Ofcourse, I will maybe increase the voltage a little extra just to make sure - my GPU runs at a fairly low temp anyway due to my cooling system <3
