Hi,

I have a MSI GTX 660 TwinFrozr OC graphics card. I have downloaded MSI afterburner and I have started to overclock it.

I have read that these don't overclock so well but I have set the power limit to 119% and upped the care by 80 (1113 boost 1178) and the memory by 500 (1502).

I have tested it for 2 hours using furmark and ran loads of metro 2033 benchmarks and it seems to be running fine with no lockups and no obvious artifacts. I'm really surprised by how much I have overclocked the memory, can any damage be done by going this high?

I don't think so. The worst thing that seems to happen when you go too far on the memory clock is the screen will turn a funny colour and you will have to reset the computer.

I think that the damage done to GPUs is mainly with overvoltage rather than overclocking. Overvolting damage is a cumulative process which may occur over years rather than months.

Provided you have stayed within reasonable voltage limits, you should be fine.

The voltage can't be adjusted so don't worry about that.

When you go too high on the memory it will either start performing worse (error correction i guess) or you will have disco-like artifacts

OK thanks for the reassurance :) I'm really pleased with this card, it's so much quieter than my old HD4850
