MSI GTX 670 PE problem?

How can I update it and I normally hear if you update the BIOS or something you can brick the card?

There is always a risk.

I thought you could use MSI live update(I maybe wrong), if not

NVflash would be the next option.

Download the file and see if there's instructions

I have MSI live update however I run the scan but nothing pops up, there's instructions

NV284MS122.ROM Legacy bios flash guide:

If your card with Hybid bios face the compatible issue, with this NV flash tool, you can flash bios to Legacy bios under DOS solving compatible issue,
You need to execute command as below:
1. First Find the file you dowmload,command as below
->cd\nvflash
2. Second, flash the bios
->NVIDIA.bat

However I don't know if I should or not, seeing as I received the card today

Didn't know red screen of death was drivers. :)

I don't think I would dare flash a brand new card that was unstable.

Did you completely uninstall your old card before putting in new one? I normally reinstall windows every time I get new graphics.

No more RSOD yet. Uninstall what might I ask, I simply took out my old card and put in the new, I shouldn't need to uninstall anything?

Uninstall all Gpu monitoring software.

Uninstall your GPU via Device manager

and select uninstall driver software.

Reboot and let windows do its thing.

Reboot - Install drivers - Reboot - install latest Afterburner

Bit of luck this will work, if not I'm out of ideas. sorry

I'll give that a try, the only thing bothering right now is just this stupid flickering every now and then, I don't get what it is

Right, everything you said and it still flickers, it's not a constant flicker but enough times that I know my 570 works just fine with this TV

That's ok, going to try and see if my next door neighbour will let me take my pc over to theirs and see if the same flickering occurs with their tv if so then it's definitely something with the card but if not then its the tv

Right tried it on another TV and it has done the same thing with the flickering, going to try it on a z77 mobo Wednesday which has PCI 3.0 lanes rather than my 2.0 to see if that could possibly be the problem

Uninstall ALL old graphics card drivers before taking your old card out and putting a new one in..! Uninstall practically everything with "nvidia" in the name using add / remove programmes in control panel.

Ideally, put old card in, download drivers for new card from nvidia website and leave on desktop. Then uninstall all old drivers and shut down, power off, old card out, new card in, boot up, install new drivers.

Screen tearing is generally caused by frame rate / vsync issues, with the graphics card processing more fps than the monitor can display. Try using nvidia control panel to lock frame rate to the same Hz the TV is displaying.

I guess you have, but have you tried using the other DVI port for the monitor? Or give the DisplayPort a try? If you haven't already. Not sure how the ports are wired, I know some cards you have to use certain ports when using mutli monitors.

Edit: load of rubbish I just typed, you aren't using multi monitor are you..? :)

No I'm not using multi monitor plus I only can use HDMI and vga since I only have the TV for now, I have tried other various tests but I'm just going to call overclockers up tomorrow and ask for an RMA and get a refund, I have stressed over this enough, I have a gtx 570 which is overclocked nicely and plentiful for what I need, shame since the 670 power edition is a lovely card but just doesn't want to work :(, I just don;'t want to get charge the testing fee and p&p if they test it and it's fine, I'm really unhappy about this as I forked out to even get it Saturday delivered...

This may be old but for anyone else with this problem it seems to be the connections on the graphics card itself, i'm on my second one now and it seems a bit better. Im using a multi monitor set-up and one of my screens flash of on every so often, changing the screens around it seems to happen on the 2nd DVI port mostly. Hope this helps.
