i cant get my friends laptop (msi gx70) to run using the additional gfx card instead of the onbaord one, it is definitely not runnning using the radeon card, any ideas?

Yea...I recall reading that for the GX60, to use the dedicated 7970M, it has to be powered by the power-brick. I would imagine it's probably the same for the GX70, considering it's pretty much the same CPU and GPU (but with higher default clocks).

yeah he was running on mains with no battery in, i spent hours on team viewer checking it was detecting card and it was being used, seemed fine, mate went to OCUK today, hopefully its sorted
